The Dialoghi di Numismatica. Protagonisti, prospettive, ricerche is a new online editorial project in which scholars of various backgrounds, researchers and university professors collaborate, both as members of the editorial and scientific committees, and as referees. It is an international journal, in open access format, which adopts the double blind peer review process, to ensure an high quality of the published content.

The journal, owned by the University of Salerno, is sponsored by the Department of Cultural Heritage Studies / DiSPaC of the same University and by the Department of Literary, Philological and Linguistic Studies of the University of Milan.

The main topics covered concern ancient numismatics (coin finds, coin circulation, collections and research), the history and economy of the ancient world, the history of studies relating to the discipline, and archeology. The intent is to create a place for sharing and comparison that gives new impetus and greater visibility to Italian numismatics. We aim to create a new meeting place where to think about the discipline, also in relation to the historical-archaeological subjects, in order to possibly create working and discussion groups, investigate the methods of approach to the discipline, inform about what is published and on ongoing investigations, collect information on the archaeological-numismatic emergencies that arises in excavations, both in Italy and abroad.

With this project, led by Italian and foreign researchers and university professors of numismatics, we therefore want to support our discipline with a new meeting place, exchange of ideas and growth for young scholars.

The Dialoghi are published annually, in December. The series is present on the Share Open Archive @Elea of the University of Salerno.
